Anthony Trodd

Paul Drayton

As a teenager Anthony sang in Church choirs and on summer courses with RSCM. At Cambridge he directed the Christ‘s Chapel and College choirs, also singing in the University Musical Society Choir under David Willcocks.

On leaving University Anthony lived in London and continued to practise as Organist and Choir Director, also helping with the music at Canterbury Cathedral. After another two years of study he joined the Music Staff of ENO, where he gained a wide experience in operatic repertoire, also playing harpsichord in works by Monteverdi and Mozart.

A short stay in the Trier opera house, and a longer one in other German houses, included some conducting, but in 1994 he returned to England and taught music in schools and colleges, while continuing to work with opera groups and choral societies in the south-west.

He has accompanied St Austell Choral Society since 2014.
